Let's Celebrate Alberta
The Province of Alberta celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2005. To commemorate the occasion, the Alberta Women’s Institutes (AWI) held an essay contest in each of its five districts for students in grades four, five, and six. First second, and third prizes were awarded.
An overall provincial winner was chosen from all of the first place entries. Taylor Fox from Delburne Centralized School, Delburne, Alberta, was the provincial winner. He wrote a story entitled My Family History. Taylor Fox is the grandson of Harold J. Fox who was an Erland Lee Award recipient.
